The NCCU Alumni Association - Durham Chapter is always looking for alumni
to join committees that help advance the mission & achieve the goals of our chapter.
STANDING COMMITTEESConstitution CommitteeThe Constitution committee shall update the Chapter By-laws and see that they are in agreement with the National Association by-laws. Program and Planning CommitteeThe Program and Planning committee shall plan and coordinate special, cultural and entertainment activities for the Chapter and develop a calendar of chapter activities. Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations committee shall publicize meetings and activities of the Chapter and coordinate and publish a Chapter newsletter. Finance Committee
The Finance Committee shall plan a budget for the Chapter (and present same to the members for approval), may check the books of the Financial Secretary and Treasurer quarterly and annually, may make a report to the Chapter, and plan and prepare the books for an annual internal audit by an independent source. The internal audit findings should be in the form of a report which is presented to the Chapter. Nominating CommitteeThe Nominating Committee shall prepare a slate of nominees to be presented to the members. Membership CommitteeThe Membership Committee shall discuss, formulate, and implement strategies that are targeted, but not limited to, member recruitment, Scholarship CommitteeThe Scholarship committee shall develop criteria and coordinate the implementation of scholarship awards, make and receive recommendations concerning the awarding of scholarships as approved by the Chapter. FundraisingThe Fundraising Committee shall plan, develop and coordinate various fundraising events for the Chapter. Awards Support CommitteeThe Awards Support Committee collaborates with nominator and nominee to document NCCAA award submission. | SPECIAL COMMITTEES
Awards and Recognition CommitteeThe Awards and Recognition committee recognizes members of the chapter for outstanding service.

CEAC (Civic Engagement & Advocacy Committee)Alumni Engagement - Participation in nonpartisan activities designed to educate, organize, mobilize and empower members to use their voices and presence to engage with elected officials at the local, state and federal levels in a strategic and unified manner, demanding accountability an support by elected officials.Student Engagement - Participation in advocacy activities designed to provide plans and strategies for the nonpartisan civic engagement of students in the democratic process that maximizes their effectiveness and efficiency.Scholarship Awards Banquet CommitteeThe Scholarship Awards Banquet committee plans a banquet to award the scholarship awardees. Golden Eagle Tea CommitteeThe Golden Eagle Tea Committee plans a banquet to honor Golden Eagles of NCCU in the RTP area.
Bereavement CommitteeThe Bereavement Committee identifies and sends condolences to financial chapter members or immediate family members. SEEM (Student Engagement, Employment and Mentoring Committee)The SEEM Committee will increase student employment opportunities with industry and government, secure employment opportunities that pay above the national average and establish immediate "career pathway" opportunities with employers in alignment with national employment initiatives. Chapter Non-Profit '501(C) 3' CommitteeThe Chapter Non-Profit (501 (c) 3) Committee works on establishing the Durham Chapter as a 501 (c) 3 organization. |
