I am Chrystal Ingram Williams, a native of Salisbury, NC. I entered NCCU in 1997 and obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature in 2001. Upon graduating in 2004 I became a double “Eagle” with my Master of Education degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
I was a Student Ambassador, Student Resident Assistant, SGA member, and editor of Ex Umbra, the campus creative writing publication. My service to the University and the community continued as I became a dedicated member of the Gamma Gamma Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and represented my sorority as Miss Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. during NCCU homecoming in 1999. I am an Associate Professor of Speech-language pathology in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at NCCU.
As a faculty member, I realized how many of our student Eagles face financial barriers that impact their academic performance. As a doctoral student, I learned the impact of higher education leadership on student success. As a former Eagle and mother of a future Eagle, I am responsible for giving back to the wonderful institution that made me into the person and professional I am today.
